From the Toro Muerto series, this image was created digitally from a previous monotype. The petroglyphs of Toro Muerto are located in the desert of the Majes Valley in the Arequipa region in Southern Peru. Among the volcanic boulders in the desert, there are about 2600 documented petroglyphs dating almost 2,000 years old from the Wari culture.
Welcome to my gallery! I am an artist/printmaker, currently living in Whangarei, New Zealand. What I love, where I live, and especially where I have traveled inspire the art you will see here. Recent works are acrylic paintings, watercolor, mixed media, monotypes, and digital art. , I have had a keen interest in archaeology and the art of ancient civilizations for many years, especially as I studied ancient art and Pre-Columbian art history at the University of North Carolina-Asheville, where I received a BFA in 1994. With my focus in printmaking, I developed a body of work inspired by the Aztec and Mayan pyramids in Mexico.
