Description
After a visit to the ancient city of Pompeii, I was intrigued by the frescoes and mosaics that were buried under the ash and lava of the erruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. This abstract painting is an attempt to create similiar colours, shapes and textures of the ruined, but still beautiful, frescoes in various stages of restoration. This painting is presented in a horizontal format as it was painted, but like many abstract paintings, they are equally, if not more intriguing, turned on one side or upside down. Please have a look at the vertical presentation and you decide. The original painting is unsigned for that reason.
